Diabetes Controlling Skin Patches: Go Injection free

Researchers at NIBIB (National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering) have developed a dermal patch that helps diabetic patients go injection free. This patch is known to control Type II Diabetes by controlling blood glucose level.  The dermal patch is biocompatible made up of a product of algae called alginate. The patch is composed of Alginate needles with exendin-4 and glucose-oxidase paired with phosphate mineral particles to stabilize and make them active only when necessary.

It is known to help controlling the glucose level up to one week. The researchers have successfully able to show results in mice and are currently waiting to see the results in larger animals
